Description
Transformer & Primary Escapeway Reflective Banner
The Australian-made Global Safety Industries Transformer & Primary Escapeway Reflective Banner provides equipment identification and safety-location messaging for mine roadways. Its two printed faces identify the transformer, telephone and first aid point, with Primary Escapeway wording on Side 1.
Measuring 2000mm x 300mm, the banner features double-sided custom printing on CL400 reflective material. Three eyelets along the top and three along the bottom provide attachment points, while a bottom stiffening insert supports the lower edge.
Main Advantage
One banner combines a prominent equipment-location reference with telephone and first aid identification. The two-sided layout presents the nominated information to people approaching either face, subject to the mounting position and sightlines.

Suitable Industries & Applications
Designed for mine roadway signage, including underground mining locations where transformer, telephone, first aid and primary escapeway identification are required by the site plan.
Use at nominated equipment and service locations, or as a visual identification component within the mine’s approved emergency escape arrangements. Position each face for the intended approach direction.
Escapeway & Communication-Point Identification
Clear location identification can help personnel recognise a nominated fixed telephone point. The NSW Resources Regulator’s February 2023 technical reference guide discusses signposting at fixed communication installations and identifies failure to locate or use communications as a risk.
The guide also describes marked and signposted exits, identifiable escapeway access points, and consistent guidance along escape routes. Matching banner messages and orientation to the mine’s signage plan supports consistent visual identification alongside route training and other escape controls.
Reflective signage requires external illumination. Visibility depends on lighting, viewing geometry and site conditions. In smoke, tactile guidance can be more reliable than visual cues; this banner does not replace lifelines, training or other emergency escape controls.
Technical guidance context: Withdrawal and emergency escape from underground coal mines, February 2023, sections 6.2.1.2, 6.2.2, 6.5.1, 6.5.3 and 6.5.4. This reference provides system-level context and does not certify or approve this product.
Material & Construction
The specified material designation is CL400 reflective. The banner is custom printed on both sides, finished with top and bottom eyelets, and fitted with a stiffening insert along the lower edge.
Installation & Site Use
Check the final wording, face orientation and location against the mine’s approved signage and emergency arrangements. Select suitable fixings for the mounting location and secure the banner through its eyelets. Keep the required messages visible and access routes clear. Review positioning if routes or equipment locations change.
