The Wet Bitumen (MMS-RC-12) multi-message sign is a 600 × 600 millimetre traffic yellow panel designed to warn motorists of freshly sealed or treated road surfaces that may be slippery when wet. Commonly used after resealing, resurfacing, or road maintenance works, this sign provides advance notice for drivers to reduce speed, maintain control, and avoid sudden manoeuvres on unstable surfaces.
Manufactured in compliance with Western Australia Government traffic control requirements, the panel is fully compatible with the approved modular multi-message frame system. It can be displayed independently or paired with related warnings such as “Loose Surface” or “Slippery Surface” to create a compliant, adaptable display. The approved frame supports flexible layouts—two 600 × 600 millimetre panels above a 1200 × 300 millimetre panel, or one 1200 × 600 millimetre panel above with the same 1200 × 300 millimetre panel beneath. This modular design enables councils, contractors, and traffic management providers to update signage quickly and cost-effectively as conditions change.
Constructed with CL400 Class 1W reflective material in traffic yellow, the Wet Bitumen panel ensures outstanding visibility during the day, at night, and in adverse weather. Built to Australian traffic sign standards, it is highly durable and weather resistant, providing long-term performance in demanding outdoor conditions.
By alerting motorists to slippery road surfaces caused by wet bitumen, the Wet Bitumen (MMS-RC-12) sign improves driver awareness, minimises accident risks, and enhances road safety during and after roadworks.
